Moon appeared in Puttaparthi during Sathya Saibaba’s Maha Samadhi and last rites around 10.34 in the morning on Wednesday, 27 April 2011. Sathya Saibaba’s devotees believe that he was promised many years ago that he will bless them in the form of crescent moon after his death. Many Telugu news channels have captured the half moon during Sathya sai’s last rites.
